areas of support

The Butterfly programme (4)

Anxiety has the ability to creep up on us and be triggered at the drop of a hat.  We then can become anxious about being anxious and we go round in a vicious circle.  Feeling nervous, restless or tense, having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom, having an increased heart rate, breathing rapidly (hyperventilation), sweating, trembling, feeling weak or tired, trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry.  The list can go on and on.

This is a very common area where our confidence can be knocked by a variety of attitudes and experiences during our lives and it’s really important that this doesn’t shape our view of ourselves as adults. Unfortunately our ‘self-talk’ can do little to help and in fact can impede our ability to move on and increase this area which can be important in a variety of situations we may face in our lives, taking more responsibility at work, giving presentations, giving feedback to family/friends/colleagues.  The list is endless. Counselling can help you to uncover the reasons why we think as we do and re-address the experience and re frame it in another light.

We all have days when things could be better.  Stress is an area where I offer support to clients in working towards resolution and making life more manageable.Stress is such a common issue these days and its never too late to seek support to help you make some sense and move on successfully with issues you may have.
