Becoming overwhelmed with life and the challenges that it brings is more common than you may realise.
Very often we feel that we are the only person going through what we are facing but, in fact, you couldnt be further from the truth. The stories that we tell ourselves stay stuck in our mind, often going round and round in circles becoming more and more tangled and distressed as we go.
Its often when we verbalise our innermost thoughts and feelings that we can slowly start to unpick and tentatively find our way to changing long held beliefs and patterns of thinking.
In the counselling room, with time and patience the transformation can emerge slowly but its takes time to trust oneself to admit the truth. Its ok not to be ok and in the first instance to admit it.
Just like the butterfly,
I too will awaken in my own time.
